HOW A PROJECT WORKS
Our method.
Narration as instruction, not performance. Aligned with structured-literacy principles, the Simple View of Reading and Scarborough’s Reading Rope.
Five steps from your text to finished audio
Intake. Tell us the text, the grade band and your readers. We ask what most narrators never ask: who is struggling with this passage, and why? We answer every project message within 48 hours.
Text analysis — where the value is. Before a microphone is switched on, Olu reads your text the way he plans a lesson: marking Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary, syntax that collapses under cognitive load, and the exact points where comprehension slips.
Scaffold design. We mark the script with the six moves below. You approve the plan before we record.
Record and master. Two passes, two deliverables: a clean read for accessibility and a scaffolded read for instruction. Broadcast quality, rigorously proofread.
Delivery. Labeled files in your preferred format, plus a written rationale for every scaffolding decision — so your team can see the pedagogy, not just hear it.
The six scaffolding moves
Previewing — a short frame for what the passage is about before it starts.
Chunking and pacing — pauses at clause boundaries; fluency modeled at an accessible rate.
Vocabulary embedding — brief in-context definitions, never a break in the text.
Prosodic emphasis for syntax — stress that shows how a long sentence is built.
Think-aloud layering — modeled reader thinking at the hardest turns.
Comprehension checkpoints — a pause to check understanding before the text moves on.
Hear it on your own text.
Send a passage you already teach or publish. We’ll return a short scaffolded sample and a quote within 48 hours.
